BUDAPEST
Complete Travel Guide
Budapest is a relaxed European capital full of history, famous for its architecture, gastronomy, and thermal baths. In this travel guide, we share how to get around, where to stay, and what you shouldn’t miss during your visit.
It’s a city with a calm yet cosmopolitan atmosphere, where historic buildings, lively streets, and a very unique nightlife scene all come together.
One of Budapest’s biggest attractions is its thermal baths. It is the only European capital with more than one hundred natural hot springs. After a day of exploring, there’s nothing better than ending it by relaxing in a thermal pool.
Our Experience in Budapest
Budapest surprised us more than we expected. We didn’t arrive with a very detailed plan, as we just knew we wanted to explore a new destination and visit at least one thermal bath, but we ended up falling for the whole city.
We loved walking around the Buda side, climbing up to the Fisherman’s Bastion, and seeing the entire landscape from above. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere in Pest, with its hidden bars inside old buildings, charming streets, and great food everywhere.
We didn’t do anything particularly grand or structured, but every day felt like a relaxed stroll that ended with a local beer and an incredible view.
