When to Visit Koh Tao – Weather and Rainy Season

Koh Tao has a tropical climate, with warm temperatures and humidity throughout the year. Daytime temperatures usually range between 26°C and 32°C, and nights are warm and pleasant.

The main difference between the dry and rainy seasons is the amount of rainfall and sea conditions.

🌞 Dry Season (February – September)

  • Sunny days and ideal temperatures.

  • Calmer seas, perfect for snorkeling and diving.

  • Best months: March to June, with excellent underwater visibility.

🌧️ Rainy Season (October – January)

  • Higher humidity and more frequent rain.

  • The sea can be rougher, which sometimes affects diving and snorkeling trips.

  • Fewer tourists and lower prices.

We traveled during the dry season and the weather was incredible, with sunny days and perfect conditions for diving. Even though there were quite a few people on the island, Koh Tao still maintains a relaxed atmosphere, and if you move a little away from the busiest areas you can enjoy a lot of peace and quiet.
