Who we are

Our story

We met while traveling.

In 2019, we did a Work & Travel program in the United States. It was the first time we had left our country for several months, working and living something completely different. That’s where our friendship started — and also something that had been inside us since we were kids: the desire to truly explore the world.

Then the pandemic arrived and, like many people, we had to pause. But that pause didn’t take the dream away — quite the opposite. It made our desire to travel even stronger.

Over time we became a couple, and a few months later we reunited in Europe. Italy was the first step, but the real leap came when we decided to settle in Berlin.

Living abroad, not just visiting

Berlin was our first destination where we experienced what it really means to live abroad: finding a place to live, understanding paperwork and legal processes, getting jobs, adapting to a new culture, and starting from scratch.

That’s where we realized that traveling isn’t just about visiting places — it’s about learning how to truly live in different cities.

From Germany, our first adventures around Europe began. But this time not as weekend tourists, but as residents who could explore with a completely different perspective.

Australia and the beginning of the blog

We had both always had the idea of going to Australia someday. And eventually, we did. We lived there for two years, moving through different regions, working, traveling, and doing road trips that left a huge mark on us.

It was in Australia where Wave The World was born.

The idea came up almost without planning it. Lauti had always been someone who reads travel blogs before a trip, and one day he said: what if we start writing about the things we experience ourselves? Around the same time, a friend told us that her family had a blog where they saved their trips as memories. And that’s when something clicked.

We started writing for ourselves. To keep our experiences, photos, and memories.

So they wouldn’t get lost over time.

What Wave The World is today

Over time, what started as a simple travel journal grew into something bigger.

Today we share real experiences: from living abroad and traveling as tourists. With successes, mistakes, lessons learned, and plenty of changes of plans along the way.

We don’t write from theory, but from real experiences — from searching for apartments in another language, dealing with paperwork we barely understood, and planning routes we actually traveled ourselves.

That’s what Wave The World is about: traveling with intention, but also with freedom.

And this is just the beginning.
