The Netherlands was one of our first weekend trips while we were living in Berlin, and that’s when we realized how easy it is to travel between European cities and arrive somewhere completely different in just a few hours.

So far, the place we’ve visited is Amsterdam, a small but wonderful city with canals, bikes everywhere, and neighborhoods that are perfect for exploring on foot.

Our trip also happened to coincide with an electronic music event, which made the visit even more special and quite different from a typical sightseeing trip.

For now, this guide to the Netherlands focuses on Amsterdam, which served as our home base for getting to know the country.
