Berlin isn’t just about history and nightlife, it’s also a great place to shop, especially if you’re into vintage, alternative styles, and local markets.
In this guide, we’ll show you where to go, from big shopping centers to places with way more personality.
Shopping in Berlin
If you’re looking for large and comfortable shopping centers where you can browse multiple stores in one place, Berlin has some great options:
Mall of Berlin
Even though you could say it’s “just a mall,” it’s huge and has countless brands. What’s interesting is that it’s divided into two parts: the West side and the East side, connected in the middle. You’ll find technology, clothing, a massive food court, and plenty of cafés. It’s a great plan if you get a bad weather day. It’s located in the Mitte area.

Potsdamer Platz Arkaden
It’s not the most visually impressive, but it’s very easy to walk through and has a bit of everything. It’s strategically located in Potsdamer Platz.
Alexa Shopping Center
Just steps from Alexanderplatz, this is a very busy shopping center where you can find everything from sneakers and electronics to very affordable clothing stores.
Shopping streets and areas
Kurfürstendamm (Ku’damm)
This is the most famous avenue for shopping. It’s a very long street full of impressive storefronts. Here you’ll find international brands, elegant shops, and the famous KaDeWe, the city’s luxury department store. It’s located in the Charlottenburg district.

Hackescher Markt y Hackesche Höfe
We loved this area. Between its courtyards and galleries, you’ll find many independent stores and local brands, with clothing that’s very different from typical mall fashion.
There are also bookstores and shops with very unique design items. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for something with personality and away from the usual.
Vintage and Second-Hand Stores
On the other hand, Berlin is a paradise for vintage shopping. You’ll find everything: from expensive brands in vintage versions (like Adidas or New Balance) to super affordable clothes and accessories in huge stores.
It’s very easy to spend hours going through racks…
👗 HUMANA Second Hand
This is the most well-known place to buy second-hand clothing in the city. These stores are massive, often with multiple floors full of all kinds of clothes and accessories.
What’s best: Prices are very cheap and the variety is endless. It’s ideal if you feel like browsing slowly, since the focus isn’t exclusivity but quantity and price.
Where to find them: There are stores all over the city, but the most convenient ones are in Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte, and Neukölln.
👗 Pick’nWeight – Vintage Kilo Store
This concept is different: the clothes are more curated, with a stronger vintage aesthetic and usually in better condition.
How it works: Prices are reasonable, and as the name suggests, items are sold by weight. Each piece has a colored tag that indicates the price per kilo for that category.
Where to find them: They have several stores across the city, especially in Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, and Mitte.
Markets and Flea Markets in Berlin
Besides shops, the city has countless outdoor markets where you’ll find a mix of clothes, accessories, books, vinyl, art, and food. They’re the perfect plan to wander around and experience a more local side of Berlin.
Mauerpark Flea Market
This is the most famous one. Besides second-hand clothing, you’ll find accessories, souvenirs, and lots of street food.
It’s open every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The atmosphere is amazing, with live music and the famous open-air karaoke. It’s located in Prenzlauer Berg.
The Original Berliner – Arkonaplatz Flea Market
If you like vintage design, this is your spot. Besides clothing, you’ll find books, vinyl, furniture, lamps, jewelry, and decorative objects.
It’s quieter than Mauerpark, perfect if you want to browse calmly. It’s open Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is located in Mitte.
Boxhagener Platz Flea Market
This market takes place every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and has a very neighborhood vibe, less touristy than the bigger ones. You’ll find vintage clothing, vinyl records, and unique items.
We liked it because it’s relaxed and easy to explore without rushing. It’s in Friedrichshain, an area full of life, so afterward you can stay for a drink in one of the many cafés or bars nearby.
Tips for Shopping in Berlin
Most stores are open from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, almost everything is closed, except for markets and very touristy areas.
In vintage stores, take your time browsing, the best finds are often hidden.
At markets, paying in cash is usually easier and sometimes cheaper.
Berlin is ideal if you’re looking for unique and original clothing rather than luxury brands.
If you like alternative vibes, neighborhoods like Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, and Prenzlauer Berg have the most interesting shops.
